ABOUT THE DANCE PROJECT
The Dance Project, a nonprofit 501 c(3) corporation, was created in 1992 by Executive Director, Luisa Meshekoff and Associate Director, John Parks, as a holistic center for the Arts. Our mission is to nurture, educate and support dancers and musicians and the performance of their works.
OUR CENTER
The Dance Project's performance space and professional dance training and rehabilitation center is housed in a converted 1926 warehouse in downtown Tampa. Affordable rehearsal space is available for dancers and musicians as well as for local, regional and national dance companies. Dancers can develop and present their work and also receive low cost leading-edge physical rehab. The center also serves as an exhibition space where visual artists can display their work.
PERFORMANCES
The Dance Project's resident dance company has performed at Lincoln Center, The Smithsonian, Connecticut Early Music Festival, The Carmel Bach Festival, The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, The Ringling Museum, The Tampa Museum, The Florida International Museum, and many other venues.
